Lake Kariba teen camp

It's time to invest in our teens! We currently have 35 teenagers needing investment, encouragement, support & input. It's been two years since we've been able to put on a residential camp and these young people particularly would benefit hugely from some time away from reality.

£45 pays for food, accommodation and transport for a 3-night adventure they will never forget to none other than the magical Lake Kariba!!! Can you consider giving a young person this gift?

Read more about our teens stories and why they would benefit from this camp below - identities hidden and names changed due to the sensitive nature of their stories.

Any amount would be so appreciated to make this trip happen for our deserving teens. When you donate you will be given the name of the teen you have enabled to join the trip so you can be thinking of them, praying for them as they go.  Thank you.

Chipo's Story

Chipo is an orphan, living with her Grandmother and younger sister. Unable to afford to send Chipo to school, her gogo was shunned by her relatives who suggested Chipo just get married. Sadly, years of neglect and abuse have left Chipo with low self-esteem and no confidence.

Our hope for this camp is for Chipo to realise how loved she is and how much she deserves acceptance.

Tawanda's Story

Tawanda started his life living on the streets. A kind family in Hopley took him in and he became part of their family but sadly due to his rough start in life he struggles with the challenges in the community - poverty, drug abuse and prostitution.

We would love Tawanda to escape his reality for a few nights and experience the beauty of nature in Kariba.

Mary's Story

Mary is an orphan who suffered physical and sexual abuse from relatives when her parents died. Mary's Grandmother rescued her from that awful situation and she moved in with her in Epworth.

We believe this trip will kick start a journey of healing for Mary and that she will gain many positive role models and friends.

Portia's Story

Portia lives in Hopley with her Mother and Sister. When we first met her she had dropped out of school in Grade 6 and had lost all hope for her future. Portia's Mother is the sole provider for the girls and faces many struggles.

We hope this trip will inspire Portia and give her a new hope and vision for her future.
